Welcome to The Willow Tree Spa at McDowell Tech. Community College

Where we believe in Learning for Life.  Our students range in ages from fresh out of high school to retired.  All with their own motivation to do more in life.   
The esthetic program takes 32 weeks to complete.  We teach the basics of skin care including sanitation, skin histology and physiology, anatomy, skin analysis, ingredient chemistry, hair removal, beauty business and much more. Our simulated spa environment immerses students in hands-on training of classic facials, training on devices currently used in the skin care field and the latest in lash and brow enhancing treatments just to name a few. This is a fast paced 600 hour certificate program.  Students graduating from this program are prepared for licensure examinations with the N.C. Day class meets Monday- Thursday 8:30 am – 2:30 pm

Requirements for the CURRICULUM program, we take new students twice a year in January and August.

Evening class meets Monday- Thursday 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Requirements for the Con ED program.  The training and information received in our Con Ed program is the same as our curriculum program.  This program meets less hours daily and without the breaks of a curriculum class.  Registering for this class is completely different than the day course (curriculum).  We take new students twice a year in January and July.

Both day and evening options have a strict 10% attendance policy.  If a class is missed when attending the Evening program you must make  p that time minute for minute on designated make up days.  After passing all classes and completing the requirements set by the NC Cosmetic Arts Board, you will receive your Esthetic Certificate from both day or evening classes.  You cannot switch classes after starting.  For more information about classes call or email Jamie Smith at 828-659-0439 jsmith93@go.mcdowelltech.edu
